Boardwalk to the Beach

If you're staying in a condominium or apartment on the beaches in Florida, you will want to use a boardwalk to get to the ocean. It is a no-no to walk on or through the sand dunes. This boardwalk is located just south of Daytona Beach.

  1. Oh! Well, that makes sense. I just figured boardwalks were to keep the houses cleaner or something along those lines.

  2. I've only been to Florida once back in 1982, so I have to ask - why is it a no no to walk on or through the sand dunes? I'm guessing erosion, maybe? Or was you just joking? LoL!

  4. It's very interesting! In Brazil the acess to get to the ocean usually is very open and people can walk to there, it's easy!
This boardwalk is cool!I loved your picture and the shadows like a nice detail!

  6. @ Tricia - No, not kidding. And they're very serious; destroying the sand dunes can cost you a big fine! Yes, erosion is part of it, but the dunes contain a grass called sea oats which is protected. Can't touch! The sea oats hold the dunes together.

There's probably more, but I can't remember it all.
