Jacob, you asked me what camera do I use, right? Ok, now you're going to laugh... Once I know nothing abouth photography (and don't like carrying anything with me), I allways have this tiny Cybershot in my pocket! Then I go to (the most basic) DriveHQ Photoeditor, do a click on 'sharpen', another click on 'more contrast' and that's it! :-) As to the 'canvas play', there is this site with a lot of playing options; you just choose one of them, then download a photo from your computer and wait... it can't be easier! Lol! http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/
Lucky you to have butterfly in a sunny day like that. We, first do not have any butterfly in Iceland, and very often we do not have sun neither. I guess that's life ;-)
Spectacular ... great shot, a masterful harmony of colors
ReplyDeleteGreat butterfly, Jacob, do you know the species?
ReplyDeleteExcellent and gracile composition in perfect matching colors.
Absolutely gorgeous!

Why is it that butterflies invariably make me smile?! ;-)
ReplyDelete@ JM - I'm not laughing. I have a Sony Cybershot that I used on a trip to Paris and it did an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteHowever, as Ken Rockwell says, it's not the camera, it's the person holding the camera that makes the difference. (cf. http://www.kenrockwell.com)
I think that's true so far as it goes, but better equipment can certainly make things easier to get good shots.
You do an excellent job!
@ Juergen - I believe this is a Monarch butterfly.

ReplyDeleteHow did you make it sit still. I can never catch one. It's a beautiful shot.
ReplyDelete@ Cindy - You have to run really fast to catch one! ;-))
ReplyDeleteFabulous picture!
ReplyDeleteWell done Jacob!
Léia
