Home, sweet home

You'll find this house not far from downtown Cedar Key.

  1. I don't know why, but something about this house reminds me of Gilligan's Island.

  2. I love this photo with its two bicycles and two flamingoes. There is such a fun and funky symmetry here.

  3. This will soon be in a movie. It's too perfect. Love the "attack" flamingos.

  5. The yard looks like a mess, but I think it's charming! Or maybe it's just your beautiful photo that makes it seem so. I do love the pair of bikes and flamingos!

  6. Love the flamingos. Your typical Florida sterotype.

  7. Unique! But it is house where somebody really live through the whole year (or only in summer)?

  8. Thank you all for your interesting and stimulating comments!

m_m - Yes, they live there year round - it doesn't get very cold in Cedar Key...well, it can get down in the 30s (Fahrenheit), I guess, on occasion...but not too often.

  10. I love the pink flamingos in the window. Sometimes the poorest can be the happiest. Let's just pray that this is the case. Havea great weekend!

  13. @ Bj - Yep. Well, sort of. It's on a bit of higher ground...come a hurricane, though - yikes!

  14. Wish I were there right now! I'd eat clams and grabs. Ummm Yummy. Poor Cedar Key is one of the first to go during a cane - as in first to go under. Best to move to higher ground and take the boat with! I'm a 'really from Florida' gal but can't say I miss it too much. Only miss seafood. Moved to TN the end of 2004 when we dodged 5 storms or so. Selling and packing a house during one aweful season was a trip. :)

  15. @ Bj - 2004 was not a good year re: hurricanes! I don't blame you for getting out...'course in Tennessee you get some pretty bad tornadoes...but we do, too, in Florida. Can't win, I guess.
