Ocklawaha is a little bitty town with one stoplight. But it borders Lake Weir. Which means it gets a lot of traffic and there are many homes built close to the shore. A good hardware store is a necessity and a blessing, and Ocklawaha has a good hardware store where you can find almost anything you might need. Naturally, it's called Ocklawaha Hardware.

ReplyDeleteOklawaha is an Indian name...there is also an important river near here called the Oklawaha, which runs into the mighty St. Johns and then out to the Atlantic Ocean.
I try not to drink too much if I know I have to pronounce the name! ;-))
