This one rules the roost!

In Cross Creek, Florida, at the home of the writer, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (The Yearling), which is now a national historic site, this cocky rooster hangs out with several of his friends. Just don't get too close.

  1. What a handsome fella! (Sorry, I'm referring to the rooster.) The coloring is outstanding, like, something to crow about!

  3. Hello, I've found you here, another great blog Jacob:)
I love this rooster, it's beautiful, but have to confess that I'm not very keen on those birds. It's just bad memory of very close encounter with one of them long, long time ago:)
    Have a grat day.

  4. He is very elegant!
LOL I think there is some cousin of him living around here, and I guess his biological clock is a little bit crazy. Can you believe that he "sing" at 4am, 9am, 13pm 16pm and so on!!!! LOL
Sometimes he really drives me crazy as well!
    Beautiful picture Jacob!

  11. Wow, what a wonderful bird! My wife collects roosters (carved, stuffed, etc....all lifeless) but she'd love a guy like this one running around in our yard. Heaven forbid she see this or we'll be heading up the highway to Cross Creek.
