I've heard manatees keep getting injured from propellers from motor boats -- that's a shame.

Now this is something I would really LOVE! I've only seen one manatee in my life... well, actually they were two: mom and cub. I missed them in Costa Rica and finally I made it in Belize years later... after a long search! Fantastic post, Lowell!
