The Black Dog is such a cool place. The owners are the perfect hosts, and often Otis "the" black dog is there too. The interior has so much character, and there is a large deck that wraps all the way around the bar. To respond to some of the commenters questions: Yes, they allow well-behaved dogs inside, and it is a wine, craft beer, and cigar bar, so yes you can smoke inside.
