The Yearling Restaurant - Cross Creek, Florida

This is the famous restaurant named after the book, The Yearling, by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. The restaurant looks like a dump but it still has a following, and advertises all over the state. We attempted to eat there one time, but it was closed. I can't remember exactly, but I believe it's only open on the weekends.

  2. We have a place here in PB, Mo. (Hyde's Catfish) that's only open on the weekends & it's a very popular restaurant, very good, so I don't understand why they're not open every day! They'd make more money if they'd open every day, wouldn't they?

  5. With all this advertising and making it to Jacob's blog, now I surely feel tempted by whatever food they serve. Just hope to find it open...
    God bless you!

  6. It has a fictional look to it. As if by entering it you could walk out of the real world and right into a story.

  9. The food would be either really good or really bad. There was a tiny little restaurant here that was open just about 8 hours of the day through the week and it was so clean u could about eat off the floor. They were always pretty well packed, yett they closed. I think it was a side job for them...and they got tired of it. It was a husband and wife and maybe one other worker. (remember I said small...)
