The bay and dock (and old pier)

This photo, too, was taken several years ago. In the background you can see the dock area, and the old, wooden pier, which blew away in a hurricane.

The Catholic Community of St. Timothy - Spanish Springs

Two days ago, in the early evening, we wandered around Spanish Springs in The Villages. The sun was setting as we came to the Roman Catholic Community of St. Timothy. Lois Anne took the second shot to catch the setting sun reflected in the row of windows of the parish hall (left).

We were not able to get inside, but perhaps we can do that another time.

Day ends at Haulover Pass

A few years ago, at the end of the day, Lois Anne and I walked around the marina at Haulover Pass in Miami. That's when this photo presented itself.

Setting sun at Nancy Lopez' Legacy Golf & Country Club

This photo was taken by Lois Anne.

Both of these photos were shot at Nancy Lopez's Legacy in The Villages a couple of evenings ago. Ms. Lopez's Legacy consists of a fine restaurant, golf course, swimming pool with bar, and tennis courts.

Coming home in the setting sun

You'll be seeing many sunset photos at Cedar Key. They are often simply spectacular. I caught this boat on its way home as the sun went down.

Sunset over the yardarm - Sumter Landing

A yardarm (I think that's what they call this) has been built on the dock at Sumter Landing. When the sun began to set I took this photo.

The Disney Marathon

Lois Anne ran the Disney Marathon a few years ago. We had to be at the Epcot parking lot by 4:00 a.m. But the race didn't start for several more hours. It was very cold. These are some of the registrants standing (and sitting) around trying to keep warm.

Flamingos of South Florida

These beautiful birds were captured at the Miami Zoo.

Small pond at Spanish Springs

This beautiful little pond is located in the Spanish Springs hometown.

Ready to sail away

The buildings on the right are condo/rentals, I believe. This would be a great place for a family vacation.

Spanish Springs hometown

Nothing like an old covered wagon to set the mood. It's what is called a buckboard, I think. This sits directly across from the square in the Spanish Springs hometown. Lois Anne is the photographer in the picture.

Blue Angels

A few years back, I watched a demonstration by the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels, in Miami. It was quite amazing. This shot came from that demonstration.

Funky bird

My "funky bird" photo was taken at Lion Country Safari (west of Palm Beach) several years ago. I don't think I ever knew what kind of bird he/she is. So, I just call he/her "funky."

Main Street - Sumter Landing

This is the main street coming into the Sumter Landing hometown. It consists mainly of professional (not retail) businesses. I have exercised artistic license and given the photograph a "comic book" look.

Golf cart rentals

While Cedar Key is not a large community, it is advisable (especially in the summer) to have some means of transportation if you wish to experience all that it has to offer. Thus, you can rent bicycles, motor scooters, or in this case, golf carts. Zippy-dee-doo-dah!

Sunrise at Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach is on the Atlantic coast; we stayed at a small resort there for a few days (gift of our daughter)...and one morning this gentleman and his dog wandered out into the water to watch the sun rise out of the east.

Relax and watch the people

This is what I call a "slice of life" photo...these folks are gathered at the Sumter Landing Square for an evening concert...but notice they seem to be more interested in other things - one person's on the phone, others are chatting, some are talking about their dogs...
