Faux turret in Lake Sumter Landing

McIntosh United Methodist Church - McIntosh, Florida

Note: Because of an unprecedented spate of spam recently, I've instituted the word verification process for this blog. I don't like word verification, but it seems necessary, at least temporarily.

At rest, in Cedar Key

Note: We've been bombarded by spam recently, so I've decided to institute "word verification" on this blog even though I dislike that process. I'll revisit this decision in the future to determine how well it is working.

Gullible!

I wasn't going to take this photograph, but Mr. Gull told me he was a very special species of seagull from the far north. I couldn't resist that!

Then I ran into some other gulls and they told me Mr. Gull was just a plain ol' Florida seagull.

I'm so gullible!

Fire in the woods ... or ... sunset?

Sunlit trees in the fog - Lake Sumter Landing

Intracoastal bridge - Ormond Beach

Note: The title was changed from Intercoastal bridge to Intracoastal bridge. The Intracoastal Waterway is 4800 km (3000 miles) and flows along the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

You can read all about it here.

Live web cam in Spanish Springs town square

We've posted pictures of this building before, but not at this angle. If you look at the top right of the building you will see what looks a bit like a light, but in reality is a web cam...it brings you a live view of what is happening in the area of the Spanish Springs town square.

If you're interested, click here.

At night, of course, it is difficult to see clearly. But note also, you can click below the picture to get a live view of the Lake Sumter Landing town square. I'm not sure where the Sumter Landing camera is.

Florida Turnpike - near Jupiter

When you get this far south on the Florida Turnpike, you know you're only about 100 miles from Miami...

Been spinning your wheels lately?

You will find this very nice antiquarian spinning wheel made of WOOD on Lake Sumter Landing's main commercial thoroughfare.

Wood is the theme for this month. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

Grouper Therapy dock

In Cedar Key, when things get stressful, you can participate in Group(er) Therapy...which means, of course, you take a ride out on the water in a nice vessel to fish for grouper! Here's where you pay your money and catch the boat: A nice WOODEN dock, with flags with WOODen staffs, and even some driftWOOD!

The theme for Feb. 1 is wood! (Please excuse the plastic chairs!)
