The new pier at Cedar Key

Lazing away the day, fishing on the new Cedar Key pier. That includes the Pelicans!

Oh now that's a winner! The movement of the birds in the deep blue sky, the nonchalant fishers and the pelicans taking their walk almost hand in hand... unless of course madame has decided to walk away from monsieur after a row. I loooove this one!

I don't know, CQ...those birds make me think of Hitchcock a little. But the fishermen and the pelicans look pretty calm so I guess it's okay. Jacob, which blog will you continue?

@ Battcat - Aw, I'll probably continue them all for awhile...if it gets to be too much, I'll wrap Cedar Key and The Villages into Florida Fotos...so will end up with only two, Ocala and Florida Fotos.

For now, though, I'm leaving things as they are...

I think the pelicans really make this shot, so seemingly unconcerned with the fishermen and the flock overhead. I'm looking forward to days like that.

All the flying birds are pelicans? Wow! Great shot!
I'm intrigued with the fisherman on the right... what kind of chair is that? :-)))

No JM, the flying birds are gulls...mostly. I believe that's a light-weight gizmo that he can carry on his back - it's probably a back pack of some sort.

Thats the right way to start or end ones day.
Tho' Jacob, - I love the old wooden planked piers.

Jacob said...

@ Juergen - I do too! The old pier was wonderful...but in Florida they blow away in hurricanes...this one should at least stay put when the next one rolls in. I hope!

And they rolling in with increasing frequency and more stronger, Jacob. So I know it is no chance to preserve the old wooden piers. Too bad...

Pelicans can be so entertaining. One took a walk with us on the pier in California.
