I grew up in a home painted almost the identical colors. It was an older home built in 1910. It always brings back good memories. It looks like they did a wonderful job. Does the old girl justice.
@ Tapirgal - Yes, this is an usually beautiful home, especially right downtown. But you'll find some absolutely gorgeous places in various other places on the island...places that would make this place pale in comparison...
Such a beautiful home in a privileged location! Can hardly imagine it being pale in comparison to others but if you say so we're looking forward to see the others as well! :) God bless you! Cezar
Are the palm trees native to the area? The reason I ask is that I am finding more and more palm trees around Sydney and I find them ugly and introduced.
@ Julie - I don't know. Probably. Although I do know that many palm trees came to Florida via the winds and the waves. Some got as far as the beach and then sprouted.
In Central Florida, we have many palms of various kinds and they do well. A few varieties might get bitten by cold weather if the cold extends two nights or more. We have a beautiful but fragile palm in our front yard (we're 75 miles east of Cedar Key) which was hit hard last winter (we had two nights in the 20s F) but it appears to be doing fine now. Most of our neighbors said it wouldn't last but it's been there for five plus years.

Oh now that 2nd story balcony is NIIICE! I'd love home w/ a wrap around porch, but a 2nd story balcony is a close 2nd!
Is this a home for two families?
@ Brattcat - I don't think so, but don't know for sure. From what we could see, it looked like a single-family dwelling.
Nice house. I think I'm still in love with "Cedar Key Funk," though. From what I've seen, this house may be unusual for CK?

Lovely architecture indeed. Give me the phone number. I'll buy two of that. :)
I have always wanted a porch like that!!
That sure is a beauty...I'm with Tricia on the balcony.
Gotta love that porch. The railing is unique really makes it stand out.
