He looks proud of this lovely place! Looks so calm there, I would love to walk around this fountain and enjoy the beautiful day there...Hmmm a sweet dream! Léia :) *** maybe some shop with my friend Lois Anne in those charming and elegant stores!!!!wow
@ VP - You made me laugh out loud with that question! Yes, Harold is real (well, the statue is - Harold is long gone)... and The Villages is actually run by his descendants - it's a family operation!
I must pay more attention to what I read!!! I though you were talking about Arnold Schwarzenegger and when I scrolled the page I couldn't believe the size of the statue! LOL! Besides, why his statue in Florida??? Silly me! :-)
@ Ciel - I think so initial work began in the 1960s...but it's really been within the past 15-20 years that it has taken off...last I heard there were over 70,000 residents in The Villages. For a time it was the fastest-growing community in the U.S., but I don't know if that's still true.

Harold is looking a bit stiff here. I h hope he doesn't step off his soapbox...but wait! Maybe the water isn't all that deep.
I like the texture blends, and the contrasts of light and tones.
He might have founded the place but they made him stand in the water. Is he in quarantine?
With his name maybe we are related somehow. MB
The usual question: is he real or they invented a founder out of nowhere?
He would be proud if he could see The Villages:)
I'm crazy about the light in your photos!

Is that a photo in Florida or Italy? Did you "borrow" a photo from Livorno Daily photo? Oh wait, I see golf carts there, never mind!
That is a beautiful building...arches always appeal to me. We lived in a little bitty house one time that had some arched doorways.
It has been said that his ashes are in the base of the statue.

Lol @ MB. It's so hot in Fla that they need to keep their feet cool!
Lovely general view, when was The Villages founded?

That's beautiful.

OK, nice to meet you real Harold: you got and realized a very good idea!
70 000? Oh good grief.
Interesting architecture of the building in the background! Looks great!
does anyone know why the son has a different last name?
