Some of us are old enough to remember 1) Sinclair Oil and 2) this type of gasoline pump. We discovered this paean to the past in Lake Sumter Landing...and yes, it is a prop!
Yep, this is the kind of pump everyone had when I was growing up. Mobilegas was one now just called Mobile. In those days it has a flying horse as part of the logo.
There was a Sinclair station close to where I grew up in OK. They even had a green dinosaur in the parking lot that got stolen at one point. The old building was recently torn down to make room to build an IHOP.

I wonder who employs the young men who manned those gas pumps now. Not the actual men, I mean their equivalents. :)
I have seen these pumps only in old movies, great find and picture. Who cares if it's a prop...
I don't quite understand the story behind, but I love the photo:)

When a service was a SERVICE station. Check you oil? Wash your windshield? etc. I'll betcha people though gas was expensive then too. MB
My grandfather used to speak about Sinclair. I think they had a dinosaur in their logo.
What could I say? Vintage?!
God bless you!
