Live web cam in Spanish Springs town square

We've posted pictures of this building before, but not at this angle. If you look at the top right of the building you will see what looks a bit like a light, but in reality is a web cam...it brings you a live view of what is happening in the area of the Spanish Springs town square.

If you're interested, click here.

At night, of course, it is difficult to see clearly. But note also, you can click below the picture to get a live view of the Lake Sumter Landing town square. I'm not sure where the Sumter Landing camera is.

Been spinning your wheels lately?

You will find this very nice antiquarian spinning wheel made of WOOD on Lake Sumter Landing's main commercial thoroughfare.

Wood is the theme for this month. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

Grouper Therapy dock

In Cedar Key, when things get stressful, you can participate in Group(er) Therapy...which means, of course, you take a ride out on the water in a nice vessel to fish for grouper! Here's where you pay your money and catch the boat: A nice WOODEN dock, with flags with WOODen staffs, and even some driftWOOD!

The theme for Feb. 1 is wood! (Please excuse the plastic chairs!)

Oblivious

They might be small and they might be cute, but you don't want get hit by a speeding golf car - especially if it is driven by a little old lady rushing to meet her friends for an "early bird" dinner in Spanish Springs!

Blackwater Inn - Astor, Florida

The Blackwater Inn is something of a Florida icon, serving good food and drinks for a number of years. It is located on the St. John's River, just off Highway 40, in Astor, Florida.

Perhaps one of our readers will know the name of this plant?

Do not, I repeat, do not feed ze gators!

This is for my good friend, Vogon Poet, who with his sweetie, Trillian, produce the amazingly beautiful blog from Livorno, Italy. Dr. Poet likes all things Florida (especially The Villages) except for our friendly little gators!

Heh, heh! I KNOW it's a zebra! Sheesh!

The sinking ship in the morning fog

This ship, which continues to slowly sink into Lake Sumter, is found at Lake Sumter Landing. Not to worry, though. Remember this is a "Disneyesque" world and it is meant to do that!
