House and dock

One of the "newer" homes in Cedar Key...this sits above the flats near the main bridge into town. Notice the hurricane shutters on the windows.

Oh wow! Now that's my kind of place! I'd be in France during hurricane season! ;-) It's a beautiful photo with perfect colours.

What a fantastic location! And the house is just designed to take in the views — wonderful!

I like this photo as well as the shack on the water. such a different look than the housing I am used to seeing. I am glad you liked the Chihuly on my site today and the story about petting cactus. Unique indeed. Another Chihuly tomorrow.

What a gorgeous place to live in! But I wouldn't feel very safe there during a hurricane...

I agree with all the other comments about living there. How strong could those supports be in a hurricane?

Well, unless the winds were extremely strong, the house might stand because it's built up on stilts...surging tides/water usually cause the most damage...but a Hurricane Andrew would turn all of what you see to kindling! The boat would probably end up 4-5 miles down the road somewhere.
