Doc Hollywood Days in Micanopy
Yesterday, Lois Anne and I decided to drive up to Micanopy, a picturesque small town just south of Gainesville, noted worldwide for its antique shops. We had no idea that Micanopy was celebrating Doc Hollywood Days.
The 1991 movie, Doc Hollywood, starring Michael J. Fox, was set in Grady, Georgia, but it was filmed in Micanopy.
This weekend was an anniversary of sorts, and the town went all out. You can read about it here.
In case you missed the movie, or don't remember it, you can find all about it here.
As I'm sure you know, Michael J. Fox suffers from Parkinson's Disease. The town of Micanopy has decided that all proceeds from the weekend's events will go to help find a cure for the debilitating disease.
We will post a few more photos from the event tomorrow.
The photos were taken by myself and Lois Anne.

That's a nice event and I particularly love the fourth photo!
Love everything and every place where people come together in peace, no matter if for fun or serious questions.
Great that you both visit this event and share your felicitous photos. No.3 is my fave - whether instructed or not, music is ageless.
I misread this as Doc Holliday Days and wondered what in the world Doc Holliday had to do with Florida. HAHA!! Looks like a fun time!
I like this small train:)
