We've referred to Cedar Key's Main Street on numerous occasions. It is typical of a small town, only about three or four blocks long and contains the Chamber of Commerce, a bank, post office, restaurants, hotel, and various gift shops.
To me it is familiar in size. That is about the way towns I grew up in were in size and content. In 1952, this is how downtown Houstin, Texas looked except they also had two, three and four story buidings. But it was small in length and size. Now, it is a monster.

Ah, I love these small town main streets. This one even has a little bit of an international feel to it! ;-)
No T-shirt shops? Sounds like paradise.
@ Abe - I lived in Houston for a number of years...you're right about it being a monster -- but not just the downtown!
Who needs more than a few blocks?
This street seems to come out from a movie!
Beautiful scenery!
