School's out - what to do?

We visited Deland, Florida, a small town about 55 miles southeast of Ocala, about a week ago. We'll have many more photos to show you in the days ahead, but these kids, sitting in a downtown doorway on the main drag, caught my eye. They were having a lot of aimless fun.

Cool time! Here in Brazil kids have winter vacation in July about 15 days depending on school. The school year starts in February and ends in December.Marina got a severe flu and it took her out of school last week but this weekend she is much better and tomorrow I think she will be ready to go to school and finish her tests before the deserved break in July.

Kind regards
Léia :-)

Cezar & Leia - Please extend my best wishes to Marina...she sent me a nice note a short time ago...hopefully, she'll be back in school tomorrow and will ace all of her exams!

I wonder what they're talking about.

Great photo of the lazy, hazy days! What fun to know that you are in the area where my mother-in-law lived (specifically, Deltona).

Yes, Cindy...I wondered the same thing. As we walked around town, they did get up and move...met some other kids and talked with them for awhile, and then meandered back to this place.

Very cool and relaxed! Hanging around and playing with the cellulars seem to be an international phenomenon.
