Until recently, this was a fish place. Now it's a Cody's Roadhouse, just like the Cody's Roadhouse we have in Ocala. Cody's is a fun place, where you can drink beer, eat peanuts and toss the shells on the floor. The food isn't bad, either.

is the truck real? it looks real, but is it runable? heheheeee
@ Tricia - I have no idea. It does look good, though!
The truck out front ain't so bad either. Nice post. MB
I am still asking myself real or not real but, anyway, it's really a nice place!
That's a photo of your youth that you have brightly colorised and then added a modern lamp, right?!!! Oh, I know, this *is* the Villages we're talking about! Great shot, Jacob!
Drink beer, toss peanuts on the floor? Sounds like home, eh?
@ EG - How'd you know?
Can't we eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor at your house, too?!
I love the truck at Cody's!
@ Safe Leif - Well, you could try, but I can't guarantee your safety if you do! Remember, don't assume that you can behave elsewhere as you do at home.
I like to throw peanut shells on the floor. This looks like a fun place.
Hi Jacob,
The truck is fantastic. WOW. Real 50-feeling there-:)
Best regards
Asta
I hate to start eating peanuts (and littering the floor) in a place like Cody's 'cause after a couple of cold brews and a pound or so of nuts you have no interest in actually eating.
@ Frank - What you say is so true, but after a few cold brews, who the hell cares? ;-)
That must be an interesting and messy place! :)
I've heard that in Europe (maybe Germany?) there's a few places where they eat in "medieval style", something like a fortress with long benches and tables where everyone sits together, throw away the leftovers wherever they please and enjoy knight's competitions and so on... I'd like to go somewhere like this once, it must be fun!
God bless you!
Cezar
Cody's look cool but the truck really caught my eye! Fantastic!
A true Villager here. The truck is definitely real and it runs quite well. There IS a lot of nostalgia involved in the restaurant motif. It's also situated right on the lake for a lot of ambiance and, of course, a sunset every night. The Villages IS the place to retire. Ask any of its 75,000 residents. There's no other place in the world quite like THIS one.
