I would not have expected this, but what do I know about Florida? It looks like a real cedar tree along with a marvelously-colored and decorated house. This is really one of my favorites.
@ Tapirgal - Cedar Key was so named because it was surrounded by huge cedar forests until a man named Faber came along and cut them all down to make pencils. You've probably used some of those pencils.
There are very few Cedar trees left in or around Cedar Key!

I love the farmstyle house. I wish mine looked more like that. Love the deck though. MB
Monsieur Jacob, this is so pretty! The top reminds me of houses on the Baltic sea in Germany. Lovely shot!
Love your photos of Cedar Key especially the sunsets
I like this one a lot. Are the shutters closed because a storm is expected?
@ Brattcat - Good morning! I dunno...but no storm was expected...might be "snowbirds" who hadn't arrived down here yet...

Wow, I like this!
What an adorable house! I would love to see the interior. Why shuttered? Is it a summer residence? Or, in Florida . . . a winter residence?
I can just imagine sinking into a big rocker on this porch. Heaven!!
@ Frank - Don't forget your cigar!
