Venetian Village - Naples, Florida

The Village on Venetian Bay in Naples, Florida, is a beautiful, upscale shopping center. A great place to spend an afternoon browsing, with many different and unique shops.

@ Leia - This is a very nice place. When we lived in Fort Lauderdale, we'd drive over for the day (about 75 miles), park at Venetian Village and then ride our bikes around the Naples area. When we got tired, we'd come back to the Venetian Village for a sandwich and ice cream!

Once in awhile we'd also do some shopping...but most of the shops are too pricey for us!

Have a great week!

It does look like a very elegant shopping place.

About the snow----See this is the thing about "global warming" we almost never had below freezing weather much less snow in western Wa. So we would always be excited to see snow. but the last few years we have had snow and cold and it would last and last--not just a day of snow and then it was gone. This isn't midwest ice and cold this is wet sloppy and fill the rivers stuff. I do like it when it is cold and sunny though--dry feeling--makes me energetic. dumb I know--but what can I say. I don't think I am getting across what I mean, so go figure it out. LOL MB

I have to admit it does look nice.
You drove 75 miles just to go shopping? Is that 75 miles there and back or just the one way ticket?

@ Ciel - That's one-way. But we usually spent the day over there. It was great fun. Now we're about 250-300 miles north of Naples, and thus we haven't been there since we moved here five years ago.

@ Small City Scenes - Global warming and climate change are two different things. Global warming does strange things to climate. In some areas, it gets colder and in other areas it gets hotter, and sometimes both happen in the same place!

Did you know that because sea levels are already rising due to melting glaciers, there are areas of downtown Miami that are 3-4 inches under water now at high tide? And the president of the Maldives is striving to find a place to move his entire population as it looks like the Maldives will be under water before too long.

Anyway...I think I understand about dry cold...it can energize a person. I know when it cools down here I feel more "peppy," especially after a long, hot summer.

Today, it's going to be in the mid-80s again, about 10 degrees over our "normal" temp, and I'm feeling a little lethargic!
