This one's for Frank at Tampa Daily Photo, who drove one of these gems around the world (or something like that) back in the "good old days." You could have seen it for yourself, Frank, if you had come to the Seafood Festival!
Now there's a blast from the past. Any flower stickers anywhere? There are a couple old microbuses around here that have been restored. My wife and I love seeing them.
Was this painted pink for Breast Cancer awareness month as our local newspaper was? Cool ride! If you watched the show "Lost", they had a great turquoise one depicting the 6os.
Your great photo brings back memories. We had one like that, but not pink, with a sunroof. We bought it when we rescued a German Shepard; she loved the beach and I didn't want sand in my "good" car. She was a great dog and it was a great car, especially when our daughters were old enough to drive. They had to learn a "stick", devious, aren't I?
My (German) grandfather, himself owner of a (smaller) VW used to say that I would a "Kombiwagen" like this one when I was old enough and that he'd put some polka dots and some gingham curtains in for me. I never have owned one. Love this Jacob, thanks for reminding me of my Granddad.
Ours was a Ford van painted with the Mona Lisa, a tapir and some other weird things. But the image of a VW bus brings back the era like nothing else. There are so many possibilities with this pink. Maybe it was painted for Barbie, or is that too incongruous?

Great colour too! Who would have thought bubblegum pink would look good on a van?!

@ Antjas - I don't know why pink. It certainly stood out. Could be, though.
VW buses come loaded with memories, no matter what color they come in.
I love the pink! It reminds me of my Granny. She used to drive us around in a little pink Rambler.

So cool! I bet this van belonged to Barbara Cartland! :-)
