Sailboat at anchor

It was a nice, relatively cool day, but lots of sunshine which means too much contrast. Nevertheless, I tried. In the background you can see a power plant, but I can't remember it's name.

Power plant or not, I'd like to go on that boat and just leave!

Shame the power plant is just where it is - out of the way of the ropes and stuff would have been nice.

With that whinge out of the way, can I say how glorious the still ness must be out on that bay, going nowhere in particular.

So peaceful! Lovely indeed.

The power plant makes the shot, I think. Nice one.

I love the way you've framed this with the boat in the foreground, and the plant a ghostly presence in the background. And because you've placed them in the composition toward the left, it appears as if they're in a race.
I'm rooting for the sailboat.

I like the subtle blue coloration in the photo. Brings to mind Coleridge's Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, you know "As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean."

@ Clueless: Thanks for the citation. It does fit. Maybe I'll frame this one and use that quote!

I like the colour of this photo - light blue! It is very calm and nostaglic!
