This gentleman welcomes diners to Up The Creek Seafood Bar & Grill at Lake Sumter Landing. He's a very nice man who loves people and loves to talk. I have no idea why he's wearing a red nose.
The "old" train station in Spanish Springs is another example of how the people who run The Villages strive to bring a sense of authenticity to this Disneyland for adults. Thus, they installed an old train signal. Like the railroad car that sits nearby and the track on which it sits, it functions only as decoration.
Cedar Key, with its relatively calm waters and numerous inlets and bays, offers a great opportunity for kayakers. You can rent them when you arrive or you can bring your own, like these folks.
We met these fine people a couple of nights ago at Lake Sumter Landing where they were relaxing and listening to some terrific country music being performed across the street at the town square.
They graciously consented to have their picture taken, which we thought was very nice. There are a lot of nice people in The Villages.
Stetson University in Deland, Florida is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Nevertheless, it has an excellent reputation, and is Deland's major claim to fame. The campus and buildings are quite attractive. This particular building caught our attention, but I can't remember it's function.
Lois Anne took this photo of a reflective sunset...the sun was actually setting behind her. In the distance you can see the Seabreeze restaurant on the left side of the dock area.
