This a bit different from the usual nice images of this lovely place. I like the subject and the rusty tones of the colors. Keep us posted about this boat. Perhaps its is an installation of contemporary art? "The slowly sinking boat"...
This will make an interesting series of photos. I wonder how long it will take for it to sink. Keep us posted!
Looks like an interesting ship. Why is it not being salvaged?
Jacob, even sinking ship is beautiful in your photos! Fabulous light and colours.Have a nice day:)
How deep is that lake? She won't stay up much longer.
@ Mo and all: You have to remember The Villages is a Disneyland for adults. This ship was placed in the water as it is to serve as a Lake Sumter Landing icon; to give some visual interest to a rather bland lake.I really don't think it is sinking...but it may be taking on a bit more water than it has had in the past. If it sinks, they'll just prop it up again.
Thanks for clearing up your followers' shock and concern over the ship sinking. It's a great addition to the founder's vision for the Villages and it is a wonderful element of surprise and "color." Great capture of the impending doom.
Why don't you and Lois row out there and start bailing water?! Couldn't you help out a little?!your photo gives me a "sinking feeling" ...
What a fabulous wreck of a boat ..
Great image! I'm glad they wont actually let it sink~
I like the concept of a sinking ship propped up again only to be left to sink... again! ;-) Your photo is marvellous.
I wonder what's keep it afloat. Is it lined with Styrofoam? ;-)
Oh, man, this brings not so nice memories to me... Once it happened that a vessel that was transporting 9.000 tons of steel for us actually sank, you can't imagine the havoc it caused!God bless you!Cezar
This is gorgeous. I love the lighting here. Love the rust too.
@ Cezar - Sorry to dredge up bad memories, Cezar. I guess losing a ship with 9K tons of steel would not be a good experience!
The picture is beautiful but a boat that sinks- even if it is old - Is always a bit melancholic!:-)
I love this picture, Jacob and Lois! How funa dn interesting.
