Cool tub! Oh, and I couldn't figure out what to "click", so I embiggened it. Hope you don't mind.

Ok, I take it that's a regular sized tub & those corals are just really big?!?!! I used to have a fish tank w/ those kinds of decorations (corals) in it - I think I still have some of the sea dollars.

Sponges from the sea--nice.
Love the tub too. MB

Nice display, I'll have two small ones please. Everything is small in Europe, so I can't get a big one!

All that's missing is some water and a rubber duckie.

The tub looks small...or are the sponges really big?

Jacob said...

@ EG - The tub may be a bit smaller than usual, but most of the sponges are quite large.

@ Brattcat - Safe Leif from Eagan stole the rubber duckie! Made me really, really mad, too! ;-)

Are you going to take a sponge bath, Jacob?

In a way it is sad they are killed for public display and possible use. I think they were alive once upon a time. Maybe I am wrong.

Great shot, Jacob. I love natural sponges. We went to Santorini a few years ago and the price of the sponge is based on the amount of water it soaks up. The more water, the higher the price.

You better buy up all these natural sponges for bath time, great-grandpa!!

LOL, I thought you went crazy on Black Friday and got them as a deal :))). Are they grown or wild? In Croatia picking real sponges out of the sea is forbidden (ecology thing).

Jacob said...

@ Mirela - These are real. I remember some years back while visiting Cedar Key, boats would come in loaded with sponges.

I don't know if harvesting wild sponges is illegal here or not.

I surely would get some fantastic items for my collection there!
