Blackwater Inn - Astor, Florida


The Blackwater Inn is something of a Florida icon, serving good food and drinks for a number of years. It is located on the St. John's River, just off Highway 40, in Astor, Florida.

I wonder if Astor was named for the flower or if John Jacob got his influence this far south.

Oh thanks---I am slowly (very slowly) learning this stuff--terminology too.
See I can crop and now lighten up a picture so you can see what really is there. That is why I posted the fort again. Anyway that's my story. MB

It seems that Astor may be named for John Jacob's grandson, William...and several other Astor's succeeded him...
