The Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings homestead

Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings is most famous for her book, The Yearling. Ms. Rawlings spent a number of years in central Florida, in the small town of Cross Creek. It was here, in a relatively humble home, that she did her writing and raised oranges.

We will be posting a variety of photos depicting her homestead at Cross Creek over the next few days. The property has been designated a Florida state park.

As soon as I saw that name I thought of The Yearling. A good book and movie but to me so sad I couldn't see it again. Lessons learned. MB
