Florida ducks

This is an old, scanned photo, taken at Silver Springs Park about 22 years ago. What surprises me, even though I took the photograph, is that I don't recall seeing this particular brand of duck anywhere in Florida! I wonder if they were some exotic breed brought in to the park to give the tourists a thrill?

I apologize for the image quality.

Quit apologizing--the quality is fine but I guess the ducks aren't. Where did they go. Maybe they should apologize MB

Hi Jacob,
These are Egyptian geese and are not supposed to be in your country and you're right, they probably escaped from a park or zoo! We also have them in France, imported for Zoo, but then they escaped and have started to breed in France. Another human mistake!

Interesting looking geese (based on Chris' comment). They look like they have black eyes.

I was also going to say, "What unusual ducks!" And a nice looking photo for being so ancient! :)

This is an old post, but I was looking around everywhere for a photo of the ducks we say today and this is it! There are some here in The Villages, FL. How interesting... are the for sure "Egyptian Geese"?
