Sanibel Island shells

Sanibel Island, located west of Fort Myers, is noted for its seashells. People come from far and near to search for their favorite kinds of shells. This is a shot of a portion of the beach...which is strewn with shells for miles. Unfortunately, many of them are crushed by people walking on them.

Amazing. My husband would be in shell heaven. Nice shot.

That is a fabulous collection of sea shells. Love the variety.

Yep, that's what happens with shells. They get crushed. I've never been to a place with so many of them though.

WoW! That's one beach you can't walk barefoot on & feel the sand between the toes! =(

I have never been there. Maybe it's time for a visit!

I bet I would find something interesting there for my collection.

I would like to dive my fingers into this beauty. I like the patches of light on the surface.

Jacob, there is absolutely no shortage of shells on Sanibel. Having most of them crushed is just part of nature!

I went to college at the University of Miami and I never made it to Sanibel Island...it is one of my biggest regrets...a lot of my classmates would go there all the time. I still have not been.
