I get the translator! Nope, no ideas as to how to get the accents, when I need some I don't have on my keyboard (Spanish, Scandinavian, Cyrillic, German...) I just copy and paste them from the web. I'm sure you could find some free software though, something like the 'caractères spéciaux' on Word.
Quant à Marie-Antoinette : I think it's way too easy to judge by our XXIst century standards. I'm not much of a revolution fan (yet am not a monarchist either) it was far too bloody and hateful for my liking. Was it necessary? In my opinion the butchery of the aristocracy wasn't. Did it change things for the little people? Not really in daily life though of course in theory, the 1789 French declaration of human rights made us all equal and that's good.
As for the queen, did you know that her words "let them eat cake" are just a myth? She never uttered them. Though one might say she had a life of ease, I'm not sure she would have said the same. The fact that you wallow in luxury does not make you happy...
Finally, the French tend to collectively adore the revolution and hate the monarchy that preceded it. Yet they don't know their own history. Kings like Louis XIV, for all the money lavishly spent on luxury for his and his own was a pretty progressive guy...
