These beautiful birds were captured at the Miami Zoo.

And they are REAL, not plastic like on somebody's birthday lawn. ;-)

They also have such a pretty exhibit to live in!

I've always found flamingos to be fascinating (but not like penguins!). I really like all the reflections you have in this photo!

such a fun photo for today. Flamingos always make me smile. How long has it been since you lived in Scottsdale? It and the entire Valley of the Sun have developed quite a bit over the past decade or more. Very interesting with lots to see and do. You do need to take a trip out here but enjoy it as a tourist not as a resident. Tourists always see and enjoy the best things in any city.

Hi Julie...I lived in Phoenix (7th Ave & Thomas, I think) when in my second year of high school)...after Lois Anne and I married, we moved to Tempe in 1959...I worked full time, finished my degree and then did a year of graduate work at ASU. Lois worked for ASU. In 1960 we bought our home in Scottsdale and lived there until 1964. Two blocks down the road was an Indian reservation.

So, it's been quite awhile. I probably wouldn't recognize the place anymore.
