Gallery under the oaks

You will find this cute little shop in Micanopy, Florida; the site, as you'll recall, of the movie, "Doc Hollywood," starring Michael Fox. Located just a few miles south of Gainesville, Micanopy offers a number of cute little shops - many of them antique shops.

This is one of the few we have not entered, but it appears to be a gallery of art and glassware and other assorted items.

It seems they've neglected to take down their Christmas lights, or perhaps they use those lights at other times of the year.

I'm also puzzled by the presence of sandbags in front of the store. Methinks the place may flood with heavy rains.

oh I love this romantic movie and this store is charming!
BTW, I think they can use the lights during the year like a fancy ornament or something like that.I've seen some stores that with lights like these.

Do they fear some sort of attack? ;-) This is a sweet little almost-log-cabin like the one I'll be at in Canada in... just over 2 weeks, yay!

@ Ciel - Log cabin in Canada? That sounds wonderful! In the woods? I had a cousin who was a pilot. He lived on Lake Superior in northern Minnesota and he would fly fishermen (I think they were all men!) to lakes in Canada that weren't accessible any other way.

Hope you have a wonderful time!
