High noon and an empty parking lot

This parking lot serves a beautiful office building in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The photo was taken at high noon on a regular work day. The building stands mostly empty as does the parking lot. Another, similar building across the way is filled to capacity as is its parking lot.

It's an enigma; perhaps explained by the downturn in the economy.

Looks like the postman is still delivering. Maybe they're doing such top secret work there that they've hidden everything, even the cars. Maybe they've developed a cloaking device. Maybe all the people who work there are never allowed to leave and thus have no need of cars. Or maybe...as you say...this is the result of the downturn in the economy.

@ Brattcat - Have you written any novels or mystery short stories? You have such an interesting mind and a way with words and I think you could be a new Steven King (or I guess it would be more like Steffe Queen!)...

You also have a great sense of humor!

That can't be good - I hope it turns around soon!
