Cruisin' down Main Street

It was unusually quiet one late afternoon when we spotted this gentleman cruisin' down Main Street in Spanish Springs.

Did Hank get a speeding ticket?! Spanish Springs looks like a lovely place!

Is that legal?

Do they have speed limits for these?

The citrus exchange building looks beautiful. Does the driver need a license tag to drive on city streets?

I have a feeling that my 7 passenger Suburban (lovingly named "Marge-the-Barge")would be a bit out of place in your neck of the woods? Not to mention Safe Leif's and my combined 7 kiddos in your quiet, retirement retreat??

I love the Citrus Exchange, all those pretty windows

Very original and interesting building!

@ Hi Allison - Yes and no. There are lots of big SUV's and big trucks on the streets here, too...and the last time we were at Lake Sumter Landing it was overrun with little rugrats! Must have been visiting Grandma and Grandpa.

A terrible situation indeed! ;-)

@ Clueless - No, not in The Villages...and beyond the two downtowns, there are golf car paths everywhere - you can get any place you want to go in a golf cart.

These are disallowed on regular city streets...but The Villages is a special place...

Golf cars rule!

@ Vogon Poet - Just the regular speed limits. But some of them are gas-powered and go quite fast. A few years ago we were riding out bikes on one of the paths (which IS for bikes, too) and damn near got run over. They are like ants, scurrying every which way at high speed!

Oh wow, so this is where you exchange your citrus .. like when its not as sweet or tart as you'd like? And they give you a new/better one? So cool. ;-D

@ Daryl - Very funny. The name, Citrus Exchange, is another made-up thingy to give the impression of age...the building's about 10 years old! And the first level is a Caribbean restaurant!

Even if it's only 10 years old, I like it! A lot!

You sure seem to be spending a lot of time commenting on other's comments today. I hope your pool vacuuming duties haven't been neglected...and I really hope there's not a 'gator lurking at the bottom!! I don't think even the biggest, meanest Minnesota bullhead could hold a candle to a Florida 'gator!

Not to worry, Allison. Out little pool cleaner is just buzzing around, sweeping the bottom and even the sides. It's fun to watch that hard-working little plastic critter.

Gotta get the pool in order, though, 'cause grandkids from South Florida arrive Friday and they spend most of their waking hours in the pool - provided there are no terrible thunderstorms and/or hurricanes.

Nah, no gators in our pool, although every once in awhile people do find a gator in their pool...that happens though when we're in a dry spell. We've had rain every day so they've no doubt got enough water to keep them happy for a time.

Hope you're having a good day in Eagan and that it's not too cold.

It's a beautiful, 75 degree day with a light breeze from the NW, low humidity and not a gator in sight! Could it get any better? Well yes, if I was OUTSIDE enjoying it rather than INSIDE behind my desk! Good thing I have such a funny and charming boss to keep me distracted.

Enjoy your grandkiddos and I'll keep my fingers crossed that Felicia doesn't have a brother who comes to wreak havoc on Florida!
