Does that pier look good to you? The birds don't like it much. None perched there. I wonder why?

Hi Abe - Well, I liked the old wooden pier much better, but a hurricane blew it into Georgia! ;-)

This pier is concrete poured deep into the floor of the ocean and, as you can see, has steel railings...so it should withstand most hurricanes.

I don't know about the birds; actually there were a lot of Pelicans on the pier and seagulls all over the place...this must have been a brief lull in bird activity!

You probably had Lois Ann run down the length of the pier waving her hands and making loud noises so you could get this perfect shot.

No, Brattcat...but that's a good idea. I'll try it next time we're over there! ;-)

The comparison of this pier to the ones the other day (and days before that) is a bit tough on the concrete one. Sure it will last a lot longer ... but concrete has no soul.

Now there's a challenge ... finding concrete with soul ...

That light across the water is great. Beautiful Shot.

Re: Dew Drenched - No, I didn't use the flash. I was actually trying to get a dark background behind the whole web, but I just wasn't tall enough, because the web was on the clothes line. I'm actually quite surprised it turned out as good as it did-I always try to get a blurry background when I'm taking shots of something close up & this time it worked out!

Thank you

Great color in that deck. It really pops.
